Manhattan (USA) heated up with a performance on Saturday by international salsa star Gilberto Santa Rosa at famed show center Madison Square Garden.
 
Captivating audiences with his concert  “La Salsa Vive”, Gilberto (Puerto Rico) performed a number of songs that earned him an incredible six Grammies. 
 
To add to the lively night, staff and an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records arrived before Santa Rosa went on stage to present him with the record title Most albums to reach number one on the Billboard Tropical Albums chart
 
Gilberto achieved this record-breaking feat by topping the tropical albums chart with a total of 12 albums. 
 
Beginning with Perspectiva (released in 1992) and ending with his latest release Necesito un Bolero (released in 2015), “The Gentleman of Salsa” has racked up numerous chart-topping salsa hits including Dejate Querer, La Agarro Bajando, and Conteo Regresivo.

Upon receiving his official certificate from Guinness World Records adjudicator Raquel Assis, Santa Rosa said “I'm thankful and honored to have received the distinction of a Guinness World Records title. My career has been marked by many great moments, but I never imagined to receive a recognition from this respected and prestigious organization. I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate with my family and to everyone who has supported by career over the years, but especially with my fans who are the ones who make the music transcend time.”
 
Santa Rosa went on to perform an amazing show for fans on the night, enthralling the audience with his now world title holding music.
