The most BMX time machines in 1 minute is 83 and was achieved by Takahiro Ikeda (Japan) on the set of 'Lo Show dei Record' in Milan, Italy, on 25 June 2014.

A BMX time machine is a complex trick that involves standing on a bike and spinning it through 360°.

Why did you choose to try this record?

To show as many people as possible what a great skill the “Time Machine” is – and to be the best at it.

What was the biggest challenge in attempting the record?

Keeping the spin going for a whole minute. Normally, the technique is demonstrated for a much shorter time.

What hurts the most?

All the muscles start to hurt, but the thigh is under the most strain.

Have you had any bad accidents?

Lots! I guess the worst injury was a badly twisted ankle.

Where do you practise?

I often practise in public parks – and I am always surprised when I look up and see a huge crowd of children cheering me on – or just staring!

What advice would you give to someone else attempting a record?

Everyone who can gather enough self-confidence should try for a record. Gaining the record made me much more confident and it has very positively changed my life.

What does Guinness World Records mean to you?

I used to read the book in the library of my elementary school and became very interested in all types of records. My life has definitely changed for the better because of my Guinness World Records titles.
