Ten tracks from Ed Sheeran’s (UK) ÷ (“Divide”) album made the Top 10 on the UK Official Singles Chart. Nine of these – “Shape of You” (No.1), “Galway Girl” (No.2), “Castle on the Hill” (No.3), “Perfect” (No.4), “New Man” (No.5), “Happier” (No.6), “Dive” (No.8), “Supermarket Flowers” (No.9) and “What Do I Know?” (No.10) were in the Top 10 simultaneously on 16 March 2017, while “How Would You Feel (Paean)”, which had debuted at No.2 two weeks earlier, was a non-mover at No.11 as Sheeran occupied 16 positions in the UK Top 20 with every track from the deluxe version of ÷.
Sheeran’s “flashmobbing” of the chart demoted Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris’ feat of scoring nine UK Top 10 hits from his 2012 No.1 album 18 Months: “Bounce” (feat. Kelis; No.2), “Feel So Close” (No.2), “We Found Love" (with Rihanna; No.1), “Let's Go” (feat. Ne-Yo; No.2), “We'll Be Coming Back” (feat. Example; No.2), “Sweet Nothing” (feat. Florence Welch; No.1), “I Need Your Love” (feat. Ellie Goulding; No.4), “Drinking from the Bottle” (feat. Tinie Tempah; No.5) and “Thinking About You” (feat. Ayah Marar; No.8). Unlike Sheeran’s rapid record-setting achievement, Harris took 26 months to bag nine Top 10s from 18 Months (25 June 2011 and 10 August 2013).
