There are now eight Star Wars films – the seven episodes released so far and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. A further four films are currently planned – episodes VII and IX, plus two more non-episode stories.
Adjusted for 2017 inflation, the highest-grossing instalment in the Star Wars franchise to date remains the first film, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), with an estimated adjusted worldwide gross of $2.776 billion (£2.271 billion).
