The largest dugout canoe is 15.24 m (50 ft) long, built by Bill Reid (Canada), in Skidegate, British Columbia, Canada, and completed in April 1986.
The canoe, named Lootaas, was inspired by the canoes built by the Haida indigenous population of Western Canada.
