The youngest person to reach the South Pole solo, unsupported and unassisted is Matthieu Tordeur (France b. 4 December 1991) who was 27 years and 40 days old when he completed the feat from Hercules Inlet to the South Pole on 13 January 2019.


Matthieu originally just planned to complete an expedition in Antarctica when he then realised he could claim this record.
