The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is an annual American hot dog competitive eating competition held on Independence Day at the original Nathan's Famous location. It sees competitors try to consume as many hot dogs as possible in a 10-minute period.

Joey won for the first time in 2007 and has only not taken the top prize twice since, losing out to Matt Stonie in 2015 and not taking part in 2024 (when Patrick Bertoletti won). Joey also holds the record for the most hot dogs eaten at the contest: 76 on 4 July 2021.

The female record for most wins is 11 by Miki Sudo (USA), between 2014 and 2025. She also holds the female record for the most hot dogs eaten at the contest: 51 on 4 July 2024.
