The largest mouth gape (female) is 7.59 cm (2.98 in) and belongs to Marie Pearl Zellmer Robinson (USA), as verified in Ketchikan, Alaska, USA, on 18 February 2025.

Marie has always known that she's got quite a big yawn. Once she discovered that there was a Guinness World Records record title for 'Largest mouth gape (female)', she knew she would be able to surpass the previous record of 6.52 cm (2.56 in).

On her next scheduled dentist appointment, with Dr. David Alberston DDS she asked the staff to measure her mouth (between the upper and lower incisors) using a digital caliper. As per the guidelines, the measuring must be carried out three times on one occasion, making the average of the three the final total. During Marie's first attempt she measured 7.49cm, on the second 7.65cm and on the last 7.62cm bringing the average total to 7.59 cm (2.98 in).
