The most gold medals won a single X Games is three, achieved by Dave Mirra (USA) in 1998, Rodil de Araujo (Brazil) in 2002 and Travis Pastrana (USA) in 2006.
Dave Mirra became the first person to win three golds at a single X Games in 1998, when he triumphed in the BMX Vert, Vert Doubles and Park. Rodil de Araujo matched his feat at the 2002 X Games, winning the Skateboard Park, Street and Street Best Trick. In 2006, Travis Pastrana won MotoX Freestyle and Best Trick (during which he landed the first successful double back flip on a motorcycle in competition), and also Rally Car Racing.
