The oldest competitive powerlifter (female) is Edith Murway-Traina (USA, b. 8 August 1921), who last competed at the age of 98 years 94 days, on 10 November 2019.

Edith is a former line dancing instructor and only started lifting weights a few years prior to achieving the record, having been being encouraged to do so by a friend. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic she would visit the gym three times a week and hopes to be able to deadlift 200 lb (90 kg) by the time she turns 100.

Since her last event, Edith has been unable to compete due to the pandemic but is hoping to get back to the gym and enter more competitions in 2021, the year of her 100th birthday.
