The most expensive set of game-worn sneakers sold at auction was "The Dynasty Collection", comprising six single-foot signature Air Jordans (#6, 7, 8, 11, 12 and 14) that realized $8,032,800 (£6.3 million) at Sotheby's on 2 February 2024.

The six sneakers represent Michael Jordan's six championship-clinching games with the Chicago Bulls that also secured each of his six Finals MVP awards. "There is no higher level of sports collectible," said Sotheby's. "This is the peak."

The collection consists of an Air Jordan VI (1991), Air Jordan VII (1992), Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), Air Jordan XII (1997) and Air Jordan XIV (1998), all of which are inscribed.

Each of the sneakers was given to former Chicago Bulls public relations executive Tim Hallam by the superstitious Jordan after each of the championship-winning games. They were later sold to a private collector before being offered for auction via Sotheby's.
